What Nobody Tells You Before Starting a Website or Blog

Hey everyone!
Hope you’re doing great today. So let me share something that I wish someone had told me when I started working on my own website.

When you decide to create a blog or website, you feel super excited. You think, “I’ll post something, apply for Google AdSense, and soon I’ll be earning!” But it’s not that simple. In fact, there’s a lot that happens between the first blog post and AdSense approval.

Let me break it down like how I experienced it, so if you’re in the same boat, this can save you time and stress.

1. Posting Just One or Two Blogs Won’t Work

Yes, I made this mistake. I thought writing 2–3 articles would be enough to show Google I’m serious. But no. You need quality and quantity. I slowly realized that I had to write at least 15–20 well-written blogs, with each one offering something useful.

So, I started writing from my own life—what I learned, what mistakes I made, things I figured out the hard way. That’s when my content started improving.

2. Google Checks Everything – Not Just the Blogs

AdSense is not just about content. They also check:

  • If your site looks clean
  • If the pages load fast
  • If you have proper About, Contact, and Privacy Policy pages
  • If users can navigate easily

When I added those extra pages, I felt like my site finally looked like a real website, not just a random blog.

3. Don’t Just Write to Fill Words – Share Your Experience

One thing I learned is that personal experiences are more valuable than long, complicated articles. You don’t need to use big words or try to sound smart. Just be honest. Tell your story. Share your thoughts.

I wrote one blog about my mother’s business journey, how she started from scratch. That post got more love than anything else I posted before. Why? Because it was real.

4. Pictures Matter – But Make Them Yours

Google likes it when you use original images, or at least ones that match your content. I started adding screenshots, real photos, or Canva designs I made myself. No copy-paste from Google!

It makes your site look more authentic. Also, readers enjoy visual content—it keeps them engaged.5. Don’t Apply Too Early

Wait until your site is ready. I mean:

  • 15+ solid blog posts
  • No “Coming soon” pages
  • Clean menu and working links
  • Basic SEO (like meta titles, descriptions)

Only then click that “Apply” button for AdSense. If you do it early, chances are they’ll reject it and mark it as “Low value content.”

Final Thought

Starting something online is exciting, but don’t let a small rejection break your confidence. Keep learning, keep writing, and make it your own journey. Google doesn’t need perfect English or professional design—it needs real, useful, human-created content.

Take your time and do it right. Your approval will come. I believe in that, and I believe in you.

Thanks for reading. Let’s all keep growing together.
