Starting a YouTube Channel? Here’s What I Learnt (Real Talk)

Hey friends 👋

Once again, welcome to my blog. Hope you’re all doing great and hustling towards your goals!

Let’s talk straight today—creating a YouTube channel is easy, but growing it and keeping it active? That’s where the real game begins. Everyone is opening channels these days, but if you’re serious, you need to do it right.

Here’s what I learnt from my own journey. Not just tips, but real things I went through.

✅ Step 1: Name Your Channel Right

Before anything, your channel name should be simple, easy to remember, and connected to your vibe.

For example:

  • If you’re sharing vlogs, lifestyle tips, or personal stories – go for a friendly name.
  • If it’s about tech, reviews, or tutorials – keep it niche and keyword-based.

Tip from me: Don’t copy anyone. Keep it personal. Let your name shine.

✅ Step 2: Create Your Channel Art

Use tools like Canva to create:

  • Profile photo
  • Banner with a strong tagline (mine is “Vibes with Vinaya”)
  • Video thumbnails with bold colors

Your channel should look lively. First impressions matter.

✅ Step 3: Plan Your Content

I struggled a lot at the beginning because I had no plan. Don’t repeat that mistake.

Here’s what you can do:

Be consistent – one video per week is a good start.

Make a list of 10 video ideas before uploading the first video.

Keep your niche clear. Ex: Motivation, Weight loss, Money talks, Rap songs, etc.

✅ Step 4: Record & Edit Smartly

No need for big cameras. Your mobile is enough.

What matters more:

  • Good lighting (natural light works great)
  • Clear sound (use earphones or basic mic)
  • Edit on free tools like CapCut or VN

Don’t stress. Keep it real and raw. Your audience will connect.

✅ Step 5: Post, Share, Repeat

Once your video is ready:

  • Add a catchy title (not clickbait, but real)
  • Write a simple description (tell people what your video is about)
  • Use 5–10 tags related to your content

After posting:

  • Share on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook
  • Ask your close friends to watch and support

Even if 10 people see your video, that’s 10 people giving you their time. Respect that.

✅ Be Real, Be You

Don’t worry if others grow faster.

Your journey is yours. Don’t copy anyone. Speak in your style, your language. Whether it’s English, Kannada, Hindi, or a mix—be natural.

Your channel is your world. Build it like your home. Slowly, steadily, it will grow.

🎤 Final Words from Me

I started with nothing—just ideas and dreams. And today, I’m blogging, vlogging, creating songs, and building a brand. All because I didn’t stop.

If I can do it, you can do it too.

Let’s grow together 💪
Much love,
Vinaya
