My Honest YouTube Journey: Challenges, Learnings & The Road to Success

Hi everyone,
Welcome back to my channel once again!

In my previous blog, I shared how to create a YouTube channel and how to upload videos. I hope that by now, many of you have understood the basics of starting your own channel. Due to my tight schedule, I couldn’t post a Canva tutorial as planned—but don’t worry! I’m planning to go live soon to show you how to use Canva step-by-step. I apologize for the delay.

There are so many free and paid video editing tools available online, so if you’re new to YouTube, start exploring them. But today, let’s talk about something more important—how to provide good content on your YouTube channel.

Content is King

When you start a YouTube channel, you must first know yourself. Don’t blindly follow trends or just copy what others are doing. Your content should reflect your interests, skills, and passion. If you simply upload videos based on what’s trending, without having any connection or interest in them, you won’t be able to sustain your channel in the long run.

YouTube values consistency and originality. You need to give time and love to your content. And most importantly, understand the algorithm. The more your content reflects your true personality and value, the more your audience will connect with you.

My Example: How I’m Building My Channel

Let me take my own channel as an example. On my channel, I upload original songs that I create, vlogs about my daily life, and share my knowledge about various skills I’ve learned over the years. I’m not just creating random content. Everything I post is something I truly know and believe in.

In real life, I work as a web developer. I also have experience in digital marketing, SEO, and content strategy. So I know how important it is to define a niche, target the right audience, and create regular content.

Initially, I planned to upload around 12 videos per day, but I started to wonder—why are my old videos not getting views? That’s when I realized: it takes time. My account is not that old. I’m still building my audience. People think success comes overnight, but that’s never true. It takes effort, patience, and hard work to achieve anything.

The Reality of Growth on YouTube

Let me be honest—it’s not easy. People often give up too soon. They expect instant results, and when that doesn’t happen, they get discouraged. But the truth is, everything in life takes time. You need to work hard with full heart and believe in yourself.

I’ve had this YouTube channel for years. I’ve tried many different methods. But this time, I’ve started with better knowledge and a strong plan. If you don’t know what you’re doing and still expect success, it won’t happen. Learn first, plan next, and then execute your content strategy.

Don’t Worry About What People Say

Another important thing I want to say is—don’t let people’s opinions affect your journey. When you succeed once, everyone claps. But the moment you face failure, the same people will doubt you and say negative things. Some people don’t even start their own journey, but they’ll talk about yours.

People told me, “Let’s see how many days you’ll do this YouTube thing.” Some even mocked me, saying I won’t succeed. But I took that as motivation. I want to prove them wrong—not by arguing, but by working hard and showing results.

When I first started uploading videos, I didn’t get many views. Sometimes only a few people watched my content. I felt demotivated. I even asked myself, “Why is no one watching?” But that made me work harder.

Fear and Self-Doubt Are Natural

Many creators feel nervous in the beginning. Some are scared to show their face on camera. Some don’t feel confident speaking. It’s okay. We all feel that way. Even I did. But you must overcome that fear and take small steps.

Start with voiceovers if you’re not ready to be on camera. Use editing tools to improve your videos. Keep learning and practicing.

Behind the Scenes: My Daily Effort

I work more than 12 hours a day to make this dream come true. I put in my energy even when I’m tired. Sometimes my videos get views, and sometimes they don’t. My new videos perform better, but my older videos often get ignored. That also feels disappointing.

I use tools like SEO, title optimization, and keyword research. Still, results take time. That’s the reality of being a content creator.

Sometimes I feel mentally exhausted, thinking whether all this hard work will lead to success or not. But one thing I’ve learned is—consistency wins.

Final Message to You

To everyone reading this—never give up. Your journey will be different from mine. But you need to know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and who you’re doing it for. Don’t compare your growth with others. Don’t expect magic in one day. Work with honesty and patience. That’s the secret.

Even if others don’t believe in you, you believe in yourself. YouTube is not just about fame or money. It’s about expression, learning, and growth. Keep learning, keep improving, and one day, you’ll look back and be proud of how far you’ve come.

Thank you for reading till the end. I hope my story inspires you in some way. If you’re starting a channel, I wish you all the success. Stay strong and keep going!
